Corrections Policy

We fix mistakes quickly, openly and in full view of readers. A correction is not an embarrassment; refusing to make one is.

Reporting an error

Email corrections@nazipurnews.com with the headline, the URL and the specific claim you believe is wrong, together with any evidence you can share. An editor acknowledges every correction request within one working day.

You do not need to be the subject of a story to report an error, and we treat a reader's tip-off with the same seriousness as a formal complaint.

How we grade and fix mistakes

  • Correction — a factual error in the published text. We fix the text and add a dated note at the foot of the article explaining what was wrong.
  • Clarification — the facts were right but the wording was open to a misleading reading. We rewrite the passage and record the change.
  • Update — new information has emerged since publication. We add it, with a dated update line, rather than quietly changing the original.
  • Typographical fixes — spelling and formatting corrections that do not change meaning are made without a note.

What we do not do

We do not silently delete or rewrite published reporting, and we do not remove a correction note once it has been published. If a headline is changed for accuracy, the change is disclosed in the same note as the correction.

We do not remove accurate reporting because a subject finds it unwelcome, and we do not accept payment or advertising in exchange for amending a story.

Unpublishing and right of reply

Articles are unpublished only where there is a binding legal order, a serious risk to someone's safety, or a fundamental failure of reporting that a correction cannot repair. In those cases we leave a short note at the URL explaining that the story was removed.

Where a person has been criticised and can show that their side was not fairly represented, we will publish a response or a follow-up rather than delete the original record.
